Our Story

We are a family run company, based in Manchester.

I am a mum of 3. One day when I was painting my nails my daughter wanted her nails painted too. Knowing how exciting it is for a young girl to wear nail polish, but also knowing many polishes on the market contain harsh ingredients, I was torn. I make sure every other product I use on her is suitable for her sensitive skin, so why was I willing to put so many chemicals onto her nails, knowing that she would be putting her fingers into her mouth?

We then started researching nail polish, the ingredients and potential effects on the body.

After our research we decided that we would create our own nail polish. We knew that we needed to offer a 10 free formula, this means that 10 of the chemicals usually found in nail polish are not included in our formulas.

The 10 excluded ingredients are Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, TPHP, Phthalates, Ethyl Tosylamide, Parabens, Fragrance and Xylene.

We decided that a 10 free formula was good, but we wanted more.

So our polishes are formulated with Naturally Sourced ingredients, and are Breathable - meaning your nails will stay healthy and not become dry.

We ensured that our formula is Vegan and Cruelty Free, as we don’t believe that any animal should ever be harmed in the name of beauty.

Finally after years of research and testing we have found our perfect formula. A Gel Effect nail Polish, that gives the coverage and vibrancy I craved, but that was Non-Toxic, which gives me the assurance I need to use it on my daughter.

From that simple question by my daughter, True Nail Polish was born
